'It [Is] My Turquoise...I Would Not [Give It Up] For a Wilderness of Monkeys'

Yet another rainy day in New York threatening to ruin a planned blog shoot so I improvised.  While begrudgingly eating a Big Mac (simply because there is absolutely NO good food in the Times Square area), I decided there was as good a place as any to take some photos.  After all, the Times Square McYDees is an old converted theatre and a bit of fun because sometimes they play old school music videos and it's fun to watch and to sing along.

I don't like to play favorites with my things but this is by far one of my favorite Coach bags. Love the color, the craftsmanship and the fact that it has LOADS of room to store my junk :)

'I Count Myself In Nothing Else So Happy'

Almost every afternoon while I'm chugging away at my computer, contemplating why I wasn't born super rich, the distant cruise ship horns further sink me into the pit of despair.  Oh, take me with you large ship of fun and food and drink. Convey me away to lands of turquoise waters and pink powder sand....

Well anyway, at least I have this video to keep me until my next getaway!

'How Now, A Rat?'

I've been loving the nasty heat NYC is known for but going down in the subway is a whole other thing. The air is so thick, you can cut it...I swear, it's as hot as hades down there...not the ideal place to take blog photos. But as I liked my outfit and had a willing photographer, I said what the hells!  (And each time the train rolled by, we got a nice gust of smelly, small debris filled, coolish wind to make it a bit more bearable).

REEEEALLY wanted the YSL Tributes (seen here) but unfortunately, I can't get them this summer due to some unforeseen events. However, I will have them on my feet by next spring!  In the meantime, I satiated my need for super tall platforms with these close lookalikes from Zara.

I kinda like the 14th street subway stop on the E line. The little statues are so whimsical, and they're littered all about and in the most unusual places.  Lovely little waste of taxpayer money and quite the diversion from the furry little guys that roam the tracks looking for something to munch on :)

Wear your shirt dresses beneath your mini's ladies! The hem line is brilliant sticking out from beneath!

'Imitate The Action Of The Tiger'

My usual lunchtime wanderings led me quite randomly into H&M where there on the rack was this awesome shirt dress on sale for $20! Much to my happiness since the equivalent (below) I was eyeing from T by Alexander Wang is holding steady at $210.

Well, I decided to forgo my usual cupcake-a-day for a week and buy the dress!  And, might I add, it's a pretty good imitation!

'Alas, Poor [Resolution], I [Meant] Well'

I am REALLY trying to cut back on my spending and to save, save, save.  And so I shall place the thanks blame of the purchase of these fabulous color blocked flats on Isabel of http://foreverunderstated.blogspot.com/!  I freaking love them!! As soon as I saw them on her feet in her blog posts, I knew I had to add them to my collection (and besides, she's all the way in Sweden so I don't think we'd run into each other wearing the same shoes).  With her blessing, I went in search of them.

Yup, my resolution to tighten the wallet has temporarily gone out the window.  Besides, what's a girl to do when faced with gorgeous shoes, the last pair (in creation apparently) and in her size?  I HAD to buy them.  Thanks, Isabel :)
