'A Malignant and a Turban'd Turk'

It was soooooo hot when I took these photos! And since it was just me and the tripod, I was sweating doubly as much since I had to run back and forth but, no complaints! I'm loving the summer heat!

Thought I'd give the turban a whirl! Was a bit skepitcal at first and thought I'd look like a strange bird of some sort, but I kinda like the look, so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried it. No need to mention the stares I got. Some parts of Jersey aren't as fashion foward, you know.

I just 'happened' to be in Urban Outfitters one lunch hour and while browsing the shoe section, my eyes hit the black Jeffrey Campbell Suebees (see the nude pair here and here).  Took me a second to focus on what I was actually staring at but when it finally hit me, I gasped, grabbed them up and purchased them.  Needless to say that as soon as I got these, Sole Struck FINALLY got them in stock again. But the UO pair are much cuter since they have a thicker ankle strap and instead of just plain 'ol black, the strap's a lovely nude color.

A bit of drama though, the first time out of the box.  Those of you who follow me on Twitter, probably heard my rant already but for those of  you who didn't: I was wallking to work all dolled up with these babies and poof, the strap broke! So I was reduced to walking Quasimodoish the rest of the way on NYC streets and can I just say that people are harsh! Just brushed right by me (I could have had a real infirmity people!!!!!) Tres embarassing! UO was good though, had the receipt on me so I waddled over (thankfully it was only about 2 blocks from my job) and they exchanged the sorry sad ones for a fresh new pair :)

What mortifying shoe delimna have you ladies faced?

What I'm Wearing:

'Where Thou Art Not, Desolation'

The economy is making short work of many businesses. This gas station near my house is one such casualty. I love the overgrownness of it all, and I instantly saw photoshoot -- the bf suggested overalls, et voila!

How do you ladies come up with your ideas for blog shoots?

Here is my compromise to the Lita's.  I was in a long debate with myself on whether to get them or not and then I saw these babies which are a bit more my taste (and I've seen no one with them!).  Perhaps in the future I will give in to the Lita craze, but for now, I'm beyond contented with my melon sweeties.  LOVE the architecture of the heel, love the suede, love the peep toe and love that they are uber comfy!

I've had this linen dress for at least 15 years.  It used to be ankle length and every year, it would just hang in my closet until I took a pair of scissors to it!

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: DKNY
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell
Body Chain: DIY
Talon Earrings: Asos
Skull Necklace: UO
Suede Pouchette: Forever21
Leather Bracelets: Random NYC street vendors
Fedora: Free People

Would love to thank Abigael from Like Mousse Au Choco for including my picture in her polka dot feature (click here to check it out)! Super, super flattered and grateful to be included so thanks again, Abigael!!

Would also like to thank Kamila of PepperMind for awarding my blog the Lovely Blog Award! Give her blog an eyeball ladies when you get a moment and show her some love!

Blogger Lunch/Street Style

I met up with Pamela of Cinderella's Closet NYC and her friend Sadia yesterday for lunch and it was awesome! I LOVE meeting fellow bloggers and the fact that we work much closer than we thought we did is actually quite hilarious! Shows that it really is such a small world after all!

Took advantage of restaurant week here in NYC so here's some of the yummy food we had at Asia de Cuba.

Our fabulous rings!

Cheers!

Awesome meeting you Pamela!!

Saw this girl while I was walking on 14th street and just thought she looked so Parisian and chic! Loved the color of her skirt, loved that she kept it simple! She got it and a couple more in different colors from American Apparel (check them out here) and I can't say I blame her! What else can one wear in this heat!
